A: Yes. I started writing because I had bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders. I wasn’t diagnosed until after I was 23 years old.

Q: How has your mental health changed since you were first diagnosed with bipolar disorder?

A: The biggest change was when my mother was first diagnosed with it. My whole life was centered around her diagnosis and her treatments. I would always check in to ensure she was doing okay. Once I found out I had it, too, I started realizing how bipolar can cause depression and mania, so I began researching everything I could about it.
